Lund Park – Junior Parkrun – Volunteers Required!
What is Junior Parkrun?
Junior parkrun is a series of weekly 2km runs for children aged between 4 and 14. They are held in areas of open space around the UK. They are open to all, free, and are safe and easy to take part in. Volunteering can be as big or as little a commitment as each individual wants to make and there’s no expectation that a volunteer will be at junior parkrun every week.
Junior Parkruns in and around Bradford
There is currently just one junior parkrun in the Bradford Metropolitan District, at Roberts Park in Saltaire. Unfortunately, for some communities we know that if there isn’t a junior parkrun close by then this can be a barrier to children participating. Because of this we want to bring more junior parkruns to the Bradford Metropolitan District, in particular we’re keen to establish a junior parkrun at Lund Park in Keighley to bring the benefits of junior parkrun within reach of the children in that community.
Volunteering for the Junior Parkruns
To get the run started in Lund Park the group is looking for 12-15 Volunteers who can join in regularly for a few months to get them established.
